Security Starts with Our People

Election security demands that people are a part of the equation – election officials, staff, poll workers, and yes, even the employees of a voting system vendor are critical to ensuring our election infrastructure remains safe. This is a core tenet of both our customer relationship model, providing ongoing training and best practice sharing, as well as key training for our employees and organizational operations. We're in Good Company

Hart is actively engaged in the nationwide conversation on election security. We collaborate with a broad community of stakeholders actively participating in knowledge sharing, best practice sharing, and discussions on the latest election security technology and procedures.

Tested and Certified

Hart Technology must pass rigorous, independent testing to specific requirements to receive certification at the federal and state levels. In addition to federal and state certification, Verity technology has been submitted for independent analysis at independent, non-federal Voting System Test Laboratories.

The Hart Verity Voting system is designed utilizing the best practices commonly found in software security engineering practices.

- SLI Compliance, U.S. Election Assistance Commission-accredited laboratory

This multi-layered approach with intentional redundancies increases the security of the system as a whole and addresses many different attack vectors.

Secure Supply Chain

Securing our supply chain is a responsibility we take seriously. Our efforts include protection of our manufacturing operations, assessment of points of origination of all components of our products, safe-handling protocols, tracking of inventory, secure container locks and tags for products in transit, and monitoring of both external and internal risks to technology and data. We use only trusted partners in our manufacturing supply chain and ensure that our supply chain is fully mapped, controlled and monitored from design through final delivery of a device.

Committed to Transparency

Hart InterCivic designed our Verity Voting devices to be the most secure election technology in the nation. Similarly, we’ve fortified our internal networks with the latest cyber defense protocols and best practices. However, we know that no system is perfect, and we value input from the research community that may help us improve our security posture. If you believe you’ve discovered a vulnerability that Hart should be aware of, we want to hear from you. Learn more about Hart’s Vulnerability Disclosure policy.
